KIZKUMU BEACH

It is known for giving the feeling of walking in the middle of the sea. At Marmaris Kızkumu Beach, you can take a walk on the sea on a 4 meter wide and 600 meter long road. Imagine a shallow hill in the middle of the sea, you are walking on this hill in the sea water. At the end of the path consisting of red sands, there is a statue depicting the princess, the protagonist of the legend that gave Kızkumu its name. The water level increases as you get closer to the statue. The ruins on the island are thought to belong to the ancient city of Bybassos.

Kızkumu Beach is a natural formation. In other words, it is not a place created by filling the sea. Kızkumu Beach was formed when the rocks surrounding Orhaniye Village were disintegrated by the difference in temperature between day and night, freezing and erosion, and carried to the sea as gravel and sand by the flood waters.
